I picked up a 48" plug aerator yesterday under the guise I needed it for my wife's horse pasture.

Well today it got a work out after a nice rain last night. Started in the front yard then moved to the horse pastures.

I'd say about 2" plugs came out. Overall I am pretty happy as the yard and pastsures have not been aerated in 16 years. Unless you count the few times I used the push mower with golf spikes.

I just love the versatility of these machines!

Thanks Ray! I couldn't have gotten her back up and running without your help with bearing replacement.

I am working on replacing the bearings on the Weedcutter next.

I love aerating the lawn, I think it really helps the lawn when you have large parcels that are too costly to use lawn chemicals. I have heard it's best in the fall, but who knows, both seasons can't hurt.

I try to do it in the fall. I then over seed along with the fall application of fertilizer. Thickens the yard nicely.
