Pulsa-Jet problem

Recommended Posts

Simplicity_728

I'm having problems that I can't seem to figure out. It's a Pulsa Jet on a 3.5hp Briggs with the automatic choke. I've rebuilt the carb with a new kit and followed everything by the book. The choke operates as it should according to the service manual. The problem I'm having is that the engine won't start on it's own, but if a bit of gas is put down the carb it fires right up and runs great with plenty of power. I've readjusted it 3 times and still won't start on it's own. Anybody have any idea's on what to look for next? So far i'm not liking these suction carbs.

Worn throttle shaft bushing - sucking air around the shaft? This has been a problem I have experienced on a Briggs large flo jet carb.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
