Yes. the best way to determine is to compare the part numbers between the two parts manuals. Center arbor pulley at the top is a different diameter for the 42" & 48" decks.

As Ray said, yes, assuming the decks are original to both tractors. Check deck manufacturer #'s to be sure. Because these decks can be interchanged with little modifications other than drive belts in most cases, it is not uncommon to see a newer style deck on an older tractor, or visa-versa. Then you would have issues.
