720 / powermax timing mark question

Recommended Posts

Tractor is running fairly well after the carb rebuild and electric fuel pump - thought I'd actually check the timing since I came across my light (been a while for that) and never have checked it yet. Anyway, all my manuals and searching I've done, show an arrow on the block, and two marks on the clutch..

My block has a square is sheet metal pointer mark, and only one mark on the clutch part. Are they supposed to be aligned? ie is that TDC or the timing mark a few degrees before TDC?

My mark is ~ 1/2" below the pointer when running, kind of where I would expect TDC to be..

Thanks for the help, searched the archives but couldn't find anything about one/two marks...

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
