Kent, thanks for putting the Homelite info on the site. I now feel like I belong here. It great to see what my tractor used to (and will again one day)look like. Thanks to you and everyone else for all your help.

My pleasure, Rich. Jeff Nemes has promised to provide me some Simplicity > Homelite cross-reference info. When I get it, I'll add it to this section.

The Quick (and Cross-Reference that I posted earlier) contains the Massey-Fergusons made by Simplicity. Now if only someone could find similar info on the Montgomery Wards Garden Marks and Squires, I think we'll have brought most of the "orphans" into the "family."

I'm with Rich, I had my homelite for about 8 months before I knew much about it's origin until I found this site. Chris sent me the same brochure that Kent posted and it was good to see it in print. Many others here helped me with it, even though it's an orphan. In fact I bought another one last week, T-8, the trans pulley had fallen off, got it for $200 with a snow blower, wheel weights and chains. Thanks

Howdy.
I'd like to also say thanks to Kent. I have 2 Homelites but only one is a Simp. made. Homelite also had Bready make garden tractors with their name on it in the very early 60's. I have one of thoes as well. They are red instead of Blue and white. The other I have is a T-16 made by Simp.
As for the Wards tractors, most of the Garden Marks and all were made by Bolens/Gilson. I have a 1959 Wards Catalog that shows the Garden Mark that is a Gilson/Bolens, not a Simp. Simplicity also made the Lawn-Trac for Wards which was a Wonder boy with a Wards tag. I have one of thoes but can't find a catalog with it in it. I eventually will someday though. Thanks.

The 59 Wards is not a Bolens/Gilson. It is a Midland. I have one that looks just like the one in the 59 Wards catalog but has a Midland tag on it. Midlands were made by OMC the boat motor people. OMC also made Lawn Boy's.
