48" deck progress

Recommended Posts

Getting close. As soon as the rest of the parts come in it's off to the dealer to pick them up.

Almost too nice to drag along the ground! But the one I am using is sounding like a threshing machine, so I will cut with this one and then restore the one I'm currently running.

Underneath, POR-15'd so it should be good for a nice long time. You can see the Yates rollers installed too. I was lucky in that the roller bar was straight and not worn at all.

Anti-scalp roller ready to go in. I went with a single roller:

For the non-welded end of the internal roller bar, I found that a piece of gray PVC electrical pipe pounded on and cut off holds that end securely. The bar is worn at that end.

Paint over rust... not cheap and don't try it if you are still trying to have kids :D.

3-step process but it really works well. I have done several projects and have been very satisfied with the results.

I also used the gray POR 15 on my deck rebuild, I think it is great stuff. I've used it before on car frames, floor boards or anything rusty but still solid.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
