Belt confusion-solved!

Recommended Posts

steve-wis

I have a Yeoman 616 tractor, mfg. no. 415, with a 32 inch snowblower mfg. no. 419. The chart at simpletractors says it should be a 79 inch belt, but I have been using it and it has an 82 inch belt on it. Am I reading something wrong? Don't think it is possible to get a belt to work if it is 3 inches off on length.

Yes, it is. With the 82 inch belt it is about in the middle of the slot on the one I am running. I picked up another one for a friend who also has a 616 (I sold it to him) and he wanted a blower. It is the same tractor and blower as I have.

I was assuming the blower was a 419, but that might not be the case. It is a 32 inch blower tho, with a 6 inch pulley on it. I will try to find out what the number of the blower is, that might be the difference.

There is no Mfg. number on the blower tag, only an I.D. number of

882 01234 I can't find a manual for this number on the Simplicity site. Anyone help identify it? It is a 32 inch single stage snow blower.

OK, I think I got it figured out. The 882 is a 990882 blower head, which was made to fit the 5000 series tractors but also fits the Yeoman with the right hitch. The book for the 8990882 does call for an 82 inch belt. Must be a bit longer than the 419 blower was.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
