18 hp Kohler Command idle adjustment

Recommended Posts

bigdog46

I have a Simplicity Sovereign with an 18hp Kohler Command engine. According to the Kohler manual there is an idle mixture adjustment screw on the carb nearest the steering wheel. I have removed the square plate on top of the carb but I cannot see an adjustment screw. I do see a fuel shutoff solenoid in that area. Any thoughts? Thanks.

There is no idle mixture adjustment. There is an idle speed adjustment on the Commands. It is located on the lower left side of the carb as you are seated on the tractor.

Some carbs do have an idle mixture adjustment, there is a hole in the fuel shut off solenoid bracket where you can access it. However as Carl said, most only have the idle speed adjustment.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
