Simplicity 700 BGB Slack

I have about an inch or so of play between the pull rope pulley and drive shaft from the motor. Do I need to go ahead and pull the BGB and do a rebuild? Where can I get parts for it?

Simplicity dealers carry the parts. Cost $350 - $400 to replace everything in the gear box. Just depends on what you need. 1" slop would tell me both shafts needs replaced and more than likely the gears.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
