Welded them up into the Y shape and Added the Hanger Brackets

155.JPG

156.JPG

I Had the Foot pedal down a Little too far and Put a Booger on the Bottom Left Hanger that I Ground off.Hanger cross holes still to be drilled

157.JPG

And Re-installed the Axle.

With this degree of build, you should toss the mailbox and actually power this with a chainsaw motor or even one of those new micro Briggs 4 cycle engines. Seems a shame to let something this detailed rest on a post. If you build it, they will come!

id="quote">I agree . . . especially since you're not even planning to put it on a post and use it as a mailbox. Seems like a lot of excellent work for something that will just sit there. Might as well power it up and make it something a kid could ride; or make it remote controlled and tool it around at shows or something.

I'm still tryin' to figure it out. With all of that work, why go half scale? You coulda just as easily went full size and had a brand new hand made tractor!8D

Looks great!

A sickle bar to notify the mail man there is outgoing would be cool, just have it swing front to back. A tiller off the back would be cool too. :D

OK!!! Now this is REALLY starting to bother me. I'm sure as you went along the ideas kept flowing and this has taken on a life of its own. But I dont want to hear it called a "Mailbox any more"...That is a perfect/working scale model/folk art/engineering masterpiece!!!

I wanna see an engine in it, and it driven around the "2014 GOTO" event by a trained monkey. :D:D NOT ON A POST BY THE ROAD

...ok, maybe you can skip the monkey, but you should bring it to the event dOd..........Awesome job!

I see it...I'm honored...sm01

I'm glad to inspire...but you are a very skilled craftsman. Do you have a lathe, mill, etc..? To make all those scale parts I thought you must, or at least access to one (at work maybe?) great welding skills too...can't wait to see whats next dOd

I was trying to think of a trans to use? maybe a power antenna or window gearcase?...but I'm sure you'll fab one up in no time :D

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
