Lost the race against winter coming again, woke up to this on the 20th

Garden still out

Harvested this plus maybe 10lbs carrots and 5 lbs beets

After the fence came down and the plastic pulled off the rows, row cover rolled up, I had some fun for the evening. Took 4 passes over it to make all the plants go away. Love my 725, so small but so mighty.

Our garden was "done in" by deer. We only had a few butternut squash, and were waiting for them to mature. The long legged rats found them and chewed on every one. They ate all our beans, also. I am planning revenge come deer season.

Bummer Jim. Think those are just little moose. That's why my 6 1/2 foot high electric fence leans out about a foot. Supposely help discourage them from jumping over.

It is surprising that an electric fence will keep the vermin out. I had one around my corn and tomatoes, in a different garden, and it kept them out. My fence is actually for raccoons, but works for the deer also. I use two strands, one about 4in. and another at 8in. above the ground. Stupid deer will not cross it. They must get their legs on it. I'm not sure that it would work for moose, though.

Lets hope for better weather and less deer, next year.

To keep the deer at bay I use motion activated sprinklers. Hook it up to your garden hose and it works great. Keeps all critters away except my kids on a hot day.

Can't really say Bill, don't pay close enough attention to talk. Not really all that much early for the first good dusting, it's mostly gone now.dOd

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
