took a tiller in partial trade for a snowblower it didnt have a pulley system i got it all hooked up it looks like it would work but i cant tell till it dries up it runs ok. the belt is about an inch shorter than the one i have for the same tiller

Ray, your right it's not there I can see the shaft sticking out.

Dave that may take up some of the slack in the belt once you put that on there

I believe he is suggesting it could possibly be used without the idlers. The problem I see is that the portion of the belt will come into contact with the idler pulley when the tiller is floating in the soil.

The best is find a set of pulleys. I have seen guys add a stand alone pulley to the back but it was just so so. You also need the idler to bypass the filter.

It looks like the belt is threaded wrong. The idler/tightener pulley should be pulling up on the bottom belt and not pushing down on the upper belt.
