Anyone know the torque spec of a 20hp vanguard? I am comparing a 20hp vanguard to a 23hp command. Anyone want to weigh in on what they thing of the vanguard line vs command? Seems like a chevy vs ford thing.

BLT

Briggs:

20 HP 27.8 Ft LB peak @ 2450 RPM

20 HP 25.2 Ft LB ratd @ 3600 RPM

Percent of torque rise 9.3

23 HP 32.6 Ft LB peak @ 2600 RPM

23 HP 29.5 Ft LB ratd @ 3600 RPM

Percent of torque rise 9.5

Kohler:

20 HP 33.2 Ft LB peak @ 2350 RPM

20 HP 28.5 Ft LB ratd @ 3600 RPM

Percent of torque rise 9.3

23 HP 35.0 Ft LB peak @ 2600 RPM

23 HP 31.3 Ft LB ratd @ 3600 RPM

Percent of torque rise 10.

The torque isn't any thing to write home about as they all are over square design. Kohler has an advantage but something I wouldn't hardly notice.

The performance curves I looked at were small but the torque numbers are worth arguing about.
