wiring hour meter

It would have to be a 2nd generation B-110 with a key start rather than the earlier pushbutton start version.

Ground wire would be grounded to the frame/chasis somewhere, and the hot wire would be tied into one of the tabs on the keyswitch that is only hot when the key is in the "run" or "on" position.

You could replace the key "on/off" switch with a double pole single throw switch.

The existing on/off switch grounds the points when turned "off" and does nothing when "on".

You would wire 1 set of the new switch poles to the points and the other set to the hour meter. The wiring would look like this:

no wiring------[ ]----to points cover mag kill

+12v----------[ ]-----ground

to hour meter--[ ]----no wiring

When the switch makes the center and upper contacts, the mag will be grounded (engine won't run) and the hour meter won't run.

When the switch makes the center and lower contacts, the mag won't be grounded (engine can run) and the hour meter will run.

I have a meter on my 64LL and it works just fine8D All you have to do is run the pos+ lead off the generator output of the regulator. Power on from the gen = output on the meter. Very simple.
