Well, with my daughters assistance i got my snowblower on and ready. Also my rear weight bracket thanks to Ray. :) and of course the Deere weights. lol. Today i put a new scraper and shoes on the snowblower, it was definitely time. I ordered the parts from jacks small engines, and must say the new scraper from simplicity was spot on. i didn't are for the shoes, they are different than original, make more sense with having 2 sides, nit still, i like original. but hey, it woks fine.

SWEEEET! Nice lookn tractor!! Nice pair of shoes....those Allen Edmounds?:D

I was at a local dealer today and he had a pair of thick nylon type replacement shoes that I wish I would have thought of. My dealer friend told me that they he had excellent feedback in regards to how smooth the shoes travel over uneven surfaces like an old asphalt drive or an uneven cement driveway or walkway. I thougjt the 30.00 price was on the high side but I could see the benefits of this product.

Nathan, the stock simplicity shoes wear FAST. I always just cut some thick stock and welded to the bottom. It will last a long time that way. I always also went just a little wider. Thats just me. 2 minutes with a welder and some scrap stock. Also, it seems like everytime I pull them off I snap the carriage bolts. If I weld it while still on the blower I remember to hit it with penetrating oil so I just adjust the height a week later! LOL

i kept the old shoes to re weld them :) my plan for this year is to get a welder and thats on the repair list. funny thing is my carriage bolts were the original and them came apart no problem. now all of the scraper blade bolts (10 of them) all broke. lol
