looking for member snow blower

Recommended Posts

looking for the member that mentioned that he had added material (welded) to the auger of his snow blower to the point that he could blow water

wanting to know how he was able to do this and keep a balance on the auger and not destroy the brgs

I do not think you have to worry about balance

but I have bolted rubber flaps, metal flaps, welded on edge

rubber did not stay on long or the metal and it is not good when you blow metal pieces. was better, but had to hand fit each paddle to housing, and then at ultra high speed i was running(changed both pulley and chain sprocket) augur would hit housing

But it takes horsepower to run with tight clearances or high speeds

Ron, did it make any difference adding a bead to the paddles in the middle only? Thinking if I ground the welder to the paddle as close as I can so the juice doesn't go thru and cause bearing damage that adding a bead or three may (3/8 inch) make it perform a little better? Any experience?
