Northeast Snow Removal

We got dumped on pretty well here in Massachusetts on the coast. A good 15-18" of snow. All my garden tractors are currently in some state of being worked on. I really want to get one going this year with a blower/cab and a second one with a plow. Hopefully that will happen in time for some remaining storms. For now I had to use my compact loader tractor only. It worked pretty well in the float position after I got my first path cleared. It would have done much better job with some tire chains and a rear blade.Maybe next year!

My car was outside as my tractors are occupying half my garage right now.

I had to get the shovel out for a little fun also.

It was also fun to go help out a few neighbors after I got my drive done.

:o:O Jack; if I had that tractor I would be replacing the finishing mower with a blower about the middle of November. Leave the garden tractors for mowing and gardening. :D:D

Very neat! Dave's on to something...if you move snow enough to justify it, a blower on that AGCO would flat out rock! 3pt blowers are all over the place around here, and would be easy to find, and easy to resell.

Here in central MA, very light fluffy powder snow, all of 6", barely more than a pain to clean up. Too tired to take photos after 40hrs straight! I like quick moving dumpers more than these 2.5 day affairs!

Dave, if you'd spent money on a 3 pt blower you must have a more flexable neck the I do. I'd be mounting it in place of the bucket.

I think that tractor looks even better in the snow then it did in the summer...Awesome combo dOd

id="quote">That would be the Cat's Pajamas! But costly qnd the tractor needs to have the gpm to run one if loader mounted. Otherwise, a front pto type would be ideal...but its hard to make the decision to pull a loader.=]

OK, thanks for all the ideas, this will be helpful.

I have been himming and hawing over what to get next as an attachment for this tractor.

Rear Blade

Box Blade

I did not know about the rear blowers. I'll have to watch some videos on Youtube. That sounds great though.

Mounting this sounds great and an easy change over for the 3 PT hitch.

I have to agree with Josh, having never taken the loader or bucket off yet, I don't know I want to put it on the shelf for the winter and store it also.

I guess the new quick connect loaders might not be a big deal, but my tractor is a 2005 and it may be a bit more involved to support and disconnect the 800lb loader.

So we can take a vote on the next best winter implement for the AGCO.

I am thinking tire chains are a must also.

id="quote">Greg thanks for the compliments. You are right, it is hard to argue with a 500lb counterweight.

Having never tried out the garden tractor winter implements yet, I need to do that also to decide what tool is best for each job, in regards to type and amount of snow.

I think we all need 3 or 4 options for each season. dOd

Marty; when we still had the farm I had an eight foot double auger blower on my 3010 JD 60HP tractor. On the big tractors you have more room to swivel your whole body in the seat and not just turning your head to the point you end up with an aching neck. Plus with eight ft. of blower I could clean out the complete drive way and the lane to the barn in about 10 minutes, no matter how much it snowed. I had a canvas heat houser on it and blowing snow was easy, warm and not a job I didn't look forward to.....Dave

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
