Sand & salt spreader

Recommended Posts

RickS

I am looking for information / suggestions on a good (read long lasting) salt and sand spreader for my driveway. The person I use to sand my driveway has gotten too expensive so I want to try spreading the salt and sand myself.

I would pull the spreader with either my Legacy or my 7018. If it helps my driveway is about 250 - 300 yard long with a two car garage at the end by the house.

The big problem is the small hill in the middle. This hill never sees sun and once ice forms it stays all winter and gets very slick.

thanks

Rick....

I have a 40 lb. spreader I bought at Ace for 60 bucks.

It's all plastic so salt don't hurt it.

It works good as long as the salt don't get to low, it gets a bit light and on ice the tires slide some being plastic also.
