Tractor of the month contest

1. For club (paid) members only. This includes all such dues paying members, officers, moderators, and administrators.

2. The selection committee will determine each monthly criteria.

3. The tractors submitted can be a restoration, an original, a rescue, a modification, an extensive repair/rebuilt - or as specified by the committee.

4. Narrative and pictures are required - to tell its story, and why it is deserving of being the Club's tractor of the month. Tractors that do not meet theme criteria will be removed by the committee.

5. Members can enter a tractor multiple times (months), but it can only win once per year. Once that tractor has won, they cannot submit that tractor again for a year on any subject.

6. Each contest will have four week submission period followed by club membership voting for a two week period after that. When a winner of that period is announced a new subject will be presented.

7. Wining tractors each month will be posted on the club home page for a period of one month. At the end of the year, we will have a separate contest of the previous winners for Tractor of the Year, with a bigger prize.(prize should be specified if it is to be mentioned at all- and probably should be something along the lines of being on display for a year somewhere in the club -just a suggestion)

8. This contest is open for members to enter their own tractors, or by having someone else nominating them, upon which owner must accept and post entry.

9. Post your entry as a reply to this topic, with pictures and a story -- sufficient to convince club members that it is deserving of being the club's Tractor of the Month.

10. Please post only entries/nominees in this topic -- any other replies will be deleted.

11. Once the nomination period is over, this topic will be locked, and members will be asked to vote on the nicest tractor listed in this topic.

I would like to nominate my 725 this month When I got it it was a real piece of Junk.

After a few months of gathering parts, cleaning and painting I finished my 725.

Done 001a.jpg

I completely tore it apart and repainted everything, rewired it,replaced tires and bought a new seat.also boughta Bowman can muffler for it.The tractor currently has a 9 Hp Briggs in it that I bought on Craigslist.(Cheaper to find a running one then get the old one running again) but am looking for the origional 7 1/4 for it.This took me about 4 months to do but am happy with the way it looks now compared to before

How many tractors is one person allowed to enter?

I would put up all you can if you have stuff that fits the category, Todd.

You never know when the models might be repeated.

So what if your 725 wins and your 575 doesn't, or vice versa.

Just put up the proper machines the next time they are listed.

So far, you are the only entry.

You could also wait until someone else nominates a machine.

I guess I will put up my B-1 for consideration.I picked the tractor up from Bear two years ago when I was over to his place getting some parts for my B-10. He didn't know much about it, other than the crankshaft turned but the S/G didn't. It has an 8 H.P. Briggs in it, instead of the correct 7 1/4.

I replaced the S/G, put an external coil on it, and checked the carb. Got it running and found several problems with it. I wound up going through the engine, the differential, and fixing a leaky gas tank. After I got it going and worked all the bugs out of it, I decided to try a modification I'd been wanting to do for a while....

I had a lot of fun with this tractor so far, and I'm just getting started. Well, I guess I will throw in my Wonderboy 575. It isn't restored, just kind of fixed up. It is a worker, I mow my lawn with it about half the time thru the summer. I got it painted Farmall red and needing a lot of work. I found engine shroud parts from two sources, badges to replace the ones it had, and decided to paint it Allis orange instead of the original. I also replaced the front tires, and then after a year of fighting the carb problems, tore down the engine and overhauled it. I discovered that the carb was not original so I found one that was, rebuilt it and put it on. It now runs really good and everything on it is original, as far as I know.I also have the snow blade attachment for it, which is not painted to match yet. Here are pics of the 575 and the blade attachment.Steve

I'm going to enter my Garden Mark Squire. I got this just a week or so ago. Got it off of Bryan. It is all orginial with some ugly lights and muffler. Which is soon to be removed and the muffler changed out with a nelson. It runs good just needs the oil bath put back on it and a seat and reay to head back into the working mode. Cant really say alot aboout it yet beacuse just to cold to be out working on it. But over all a solid tractor and we just dont see to many of these squires show up on here.
