Snow days

Hey Tractor Chic; how's this for fun. 36 hours of SW wind drifted in my drive big time. Made it out to the shop and put drift cutters on the BigTen blower. Used it to make a path to the front of the garage and down the north side of the drive so I could get the wife's car out and go get the big guns to clear the rest of the 3 to 7 ft. drifts. I have had enough winter.:(!:(!

I was having fun, til the belt broke on the 2110's snowblower. Had to order it from the dealer. He looked at me funny, said he had never sold one? Gee, the setup is only 46 years old, why no parts in stock?

Bought a NAPA belt, it worked for about an hour, til it snapped! I had to resort to using the blade on the 712H.

I'm so glad I don't get drifts like at the old house...our snow settles in nice and easy at the new place becuase of the timber around us. I feel your pain Dave.I was actually talking to Michael yesterday about drift cutters, and have a set of them made up now from an old dozer cutting edge. I need um now! The snow is caving in onto the floorboards of the Legacy as I go.

What I made for drifts and stronger front edge of the blower sheet metal.

Has worked well for a number of years. Doing others drives and walks helps beef-up the front. Not always "sure" what I might run into.

There's some serious snow drifts in this thread, and while I miss the snows of my youth, I'm glad I didn't have to plow through them. I'm considering moving from eastern PA to central NY, where I previously lived. More like what Dave is dealing with but not quite as bad.

The B-10 with the hydraulic lift makes me jealous. I'm out there using my arm - like a complete fool.

AWESOME! I have a snowblower in Steve72's shop that I'll need to retrieve if it keeps coming like they say it might! I've never tried one but it looks like fun as long as the wind is blowing the right way.

A friendly neighbor showed up in the driveway with his loader and plowed a path as I was on my way out there. He got to it before I could! I was devastated. HA!I have a feeling I may have another shot before spring...

Now all we need is a salt spreader for these little tractors!
