Same part # , 3 different manufacturers

Same part # , 3 different manufacturers

Anybody notice when they go on Jack's small engines or other sites & look up a part, for example a belt they get 3 different brands (simplicity, snapper, & murray) all have the same part #, but have 3 different prices. Are these the same exact belts & should I get the cheapest one ?

Murray and Simplicity is like gas and water, they don't mix. Briggs owns Snapper and Simplicity and by chance they use the same belt, but to be safe go with the Simplicity.

If the number is the same then the parts will be the same. When Al Eden was last posting I believe he mentioned how the Briggs parts distribution center had parts for all the product lines picked from the same building. Briggs has done a lot of consolidation. None of the parts say Murray, Snapper, or Simplicity on them anymore. They all have Briggs and Stratton labels.

I forgot Chris, Murray was purchased by Briggs some years ago. I was thinking MTD.

They are just telling you what models that belt fits. Same belt. Bob
