Sunstar snow blower question

Recommended Posts

I purchased a Sunstar and blower this past summer and have used it this winter. My past experience is with single stage blowers on older Simplicity tractors. I experience an issue with the blower that may be normal, but I do not know and the blower manual did not help me.The pictures are of the blower hitch. The blower sets into the tabs and there does not seem to be anything that secures the blower in its slots. I circled the left side tab. When I run the blower and I back up, the blower, on the right side, will come out of its slot. The left side remains because the lift rod keeps it in place. My work around is to raise the blower before backing up. Is this normal and I need to come to peace with it, or is there something I am missing?Mark Dudley

You are missing 2 pins.

In #1 picture, there is a hole to the right of your red circled pin.(One on each side)

There are 2 rectangular pieces of metal attached to the link pin on your snowblower. Pins go through the hole on the rectangular tab and through the holes on the frame of the tractor.

If any problems either go to

Hope this helps.

id="quote">The manual referenced the holes as well but my snow blower hitch seemed different. I took another pictures to show what I am dealing with. What am I missing? Thanks for the quick help.

I can see what AC Toyboy means. If you had a small plate of metal with 2 holes in it, 1 would go over the blower pin and the other would line up with the hole in the frame by the front axle. You then put a pin thru the 2 holes and ... there it is.^ Dave

This same issue is referenced here:http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=132454&SearchTerms=sunstarThere is a plate on each side, that should be on your hitch, but when 'fallen' downward they kinda hide inside the bracket. They swing up, and pin to the tractor frame as mentioned above. Part #5:

I never saw the metal pieces that swung down. In my defense, from the side and with no prior experience, I did not think to look inside. The pictures show that it was there the entire time. Thanks again for the help.
