Reinforcing snow blower flighting ends

Recommended Posts

jlasater

The ends of the auger flighting on the snow blower on my 716H have obviously hit something in the past (before I bought it). Have you guys welded on small plates on the back side of the tips and re-balanced the rotor? Is there a better option?

BLT

Last year I caught something (ice chunk?) that stopped the tractor dead in its tracks. What you see is the polished end bent backwards about 90 degrees. I can't get it with a cresent wrench, pipe wrench or sledge hammer, so I am leaving it alone.

It runs just fine for me and as far as vibration goes, it really doesn't shake. With a single cylinder engine, it's hard to tell which is who.:P And it still chucks snow.:D
