Did another stupid. This winter my 16 Briggs was getting harder to start, but with the cold weather and a litte help from the ether can, it started and got job done. On the 19th I decided to change carb as it was 44 deg out and kind'a nice out. Get everything cleared away and I noticed a wobble in the intake elbow. Well one elbow mounting bolt backed out, doh! Tightened things starts up and no wheeze, no ether and it runs better.

Here it is before the repair.

My 63 Broadmoor used to start up right away but last mowing season it takes 10 to 15 cranks to start up. Mowed the whole season that way & still had good power, but I noticed it was less than what it used to be. Thought it may be the valves or piston rings because it seemed like it had to crank for a while to build up compression, But now I'll be checking for loose bolts. Thanks Bob.;)
