Rear Weights

Recommended Posts

Well finally got my second Soveriegn home. It had a blower, cab and weights. Blower is fine, but went to put on the weights and there is no hole for the axel. Do I have to cut it out or are they not going to work? Don't look like they have ever been on the wheels of new tractor.

Well, don't look like the pictures can be seen. They are the plastic coated 75 lb that look like the ones in the garden tractor parts manual. Bolt holes look to line up with holes in wheels.

Jay likely the photos won't post due to symbols in the title.

If you can edit the % symbol out of the photo title your photos ought to work.

Read this article it should solve your photos issues.

I don't think they are Simplicity weights. The "Simplicity" plastic coated concrete filled weights for the large frame tractors look like this:

They mount mostly on the outside of the wheel. There are other brands that do the same. Maybe you could mount yours "backwards" to clear the axle. Having them stick out past the wheel face isn't the best and you have to be more careful maneuvering.

I believe they are 50 lbs. They are not my favorites. After someone here mentioned you can mount some cast wheel weights on the back side of the wheel, the light bulb turned on for me. I had never considered it. And now a another pair of non favorite became my favorite:
