Hydraulic fluid on the floor...

After running my DA 917H pretty hard plowing snow this winter, I found it had leaked quite a bit of hydraulic fluid (auto transmission fluid Type F) on the floor - an ounce or two (i.e a "shot" or two). With the spring now here, I pressure washed the entire tractor, refilled the hydraulic fluid, and ran the tractor. I noted that the vent valve stuck a bit when I went to lift it during the refill. I expected the check valves would seep by a bit, but had no idea where a larger scale leak would occur from. After running the tractor pretty hard, there was no evidence of any leaking. Could a stuck vent valve force fluid out?
