I have a 42 inch deck (model 1690501) that I'm going to use on a 7016 and was wondering if someone knew the part # of the drive belt I need. All my manuals for that deck show a belt # of 1666801 which is for a 7100 series tractor. The belt reference page on this site shows the same

I just put an 81" belt (IF I rember right)in a 42" deck on a 7016 yesterday. Seeing as there is a spring on the belt pulley I think you can get close and a 1/2 " difference did not effect the performance on my deck. Be sure you check the idler pulley to be sure it is running smooth and that the sprung pivot arm that the idler is mounted to is loose and not frozen in place.

In the What Fits forum it shows that a 1690501 mower needs a 176439 PTO belt 74" L.

Funny thing is I saw the 74"number also but when I took the old belt in the guy measured it on a belt gauge and it came back at 81" ? I asked the guy to check it again and he told me it was 81". There is no way that belt could streach 7"

I just ran out and looked at the belt box and it says 4L810 ?....now I am confused?? Was the incorrect belt on this deck to begin with and how could it be 7" longer and still fit?

I guess at this point my answer is incorrect and go with 74" while I figure out what I did wrong? Sorry about that!

The 81" may be for the arbor drive belt and not the PTO belt?

Deck blade arbor belt is what I replaced. Not the belt from the cone clutch to the center drive arbor.
