Allisgrandson Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Well, after enviously reading about the great finds that some of the members on here have found, I finally get to join their exalted ranks! I found the steal of the year for around here! I managed to buy 2 non-running tractors (B-10, B-12), 2 carburetors, 2 mower decks, hydrolift,a rototiller with mule drive, snowblower, push blade, harrows and some miscellaneous bits for $91. That's right, $91.I saw a couple pictures of the tractors in an auction ad and made a point of it to reserve the day for the auction. As I was wandering around, I dug through an old corn crib that the B12 was sitting in front of and found the attachments. The carbs I lucked out on and just happened to be near the tent when they came up for sale as 'car carburetors'. I got them both for a buck! The attachments were not even going to be sold separately, they were going to be sold as scrap along with the rest of the contents of the corn crib. I had to ask that they be sold separately. I was called into work right after I bid on the attachments, so I was unable to try and dig out any other parts for the equipment. All this for a $1! Seized engine and missing the front grill, but the S/G works. Engine turns over, bad S/G, but the badges are all there. These all turn freely. I'll get the rototiller out tomorrow or Thursday for a test run. 1 42" deck and 1 48" deck. No deflectors but 5 out of 6 spindles are tight and free moving. Not part of the deal, but they helped unload everything. The kwikway loader isn't rated to lift a B10 or B12! Any help on if these parts go together and how they go together would be greatly appreciated! I had to head to work at the end of this, so I contracted with a gentleman there who had been there to bid to deliver my stiff. $50 and a day later and it was home! It saved me a lot of labor, as this stuff was back in overgrown areas with no air in the tires or tires at all in the case of the B12.
D-17_Dave Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Awesome find. The listing attachment is really rare, left side of the last pick. Not sure about the style of hitch on the right. Never seen that one before.
Talntedmrgreen Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Neat haul! Is the Homie/FEL in working condition? Pretty cool Dave, I'm not familiar with the stuff in the last pic...the components look very different from anything I've seen built by Simplicity.
fishnwiz Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Wow How do you sleep at night! Sweeet haul! 50 bucks...what a bargin for hauling!
PGL Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Good eyes! You were rewarded for being aware of what was available and acting on it. Other bidders just didn't know what was being offered, and/or had no interest in Simplicity/AC.

Allisgrandson Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 Thanks guys! I was lucky no other smart AC/Simplicity fan was there. I talked with the metal scrappers when we were all looking it over and let them know I knew what I was talking about and that I was a collecter. A couple of them didn't bid against me because they knew I was going to use them, not scrap them. The $50 shipping was a great deal, but I'm going to be giving his son tree work very soon, hopefully. That is a Homie with a kwikway FEL that I picked up from Ronkon last year. It was a great purchase and I'm glad I got it. I don't sleep well because I over paid for a non running B10 a few years ago, but this purchase doesn't bother me at all! Brian
Robert Kehoe Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Id buy a grill if you want to sell one. Rob.. 810-516-1191
Allisgrandson Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 Rob, Unfortunately, there is only 1 grill between the 2 tractors. If I come across one, I'll let you know. Brian
GLPointon Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Whatta great haul! Good job saving the stuff from the corn crib. I hope nothing too good got scrapped after you got called away
Allisgrandson Posted May 13, 2014 Author Posted May 13, 2014 GL, I'm fairly certain I got it all. I walked through the whole place before the bidding started, The only thing missing is the B10 grill.
