Rebuild kits

going to go inside two Briggs Vanguards 18hp

to see why they quit running

I may rebuild them if feasible

My question Is there a rebuild kit for them?

I'm thinking pistons and rings and gaskets

and possibly rods

I have never seen any OEM kits, but you might see something in the non OEM aftermarket side.

Ron,

Pull the valve covers and check for dislocated or broken push rods.

The Vanguards have a habit, after some hard use, to have problems there. The aluminum cylinders expand more than the push rods, and cause too much clearance.

Everything good. Correct clearance

I looked online and did not see kits. And if I am lucky it may be a jug and rings

Sorry I can't help with kit info. I help a friend maintain a Simp. with a Vanguard and it has had valve train issues a couple of times.
