JCS 0 Posted January 4, 2002 Got paint in the mail yesterday and opened it up and looked at it. Looks o.k. but I want to see it in the daylight. I joined this club and coorsponded with KENT several times over AC yellow. I had several batches made from formula on the Internet and posted here and have went the scanning route also. I called KRYLON, DUPONT, old AC dealers but never though to call Sherwin-Williams. I hope my search is over and I can finally get started on my B-10.
Guest Posted January 4, 2002 I painted my B-10 with a quart that I had mixed at the Sherwin Williams automotive paint supplier. It has the same code as that which is listed in the paint section of this forum - I think it is 922983?? Anyway, I also had a gallon of cream mixed by the same folks, using a paint code that I got out of an old 300 series parts manual. The yellow looks about as close as you are going to get, while the cream appears a little too dark. I used them both anyway with hardener and am very happy with the results. powermax_paul 1 Posted January 4, 2002 JCS, I had my local Sherwin Williams store do a color match of AC yellow in their B54 Industrial Enamel product. I just picked it up today. I had them split the gallon into three quart containers besides the original gallon can after shaking it well. If anyone is interested, I'll sell them a quart for $9.00 plus shipping. (My cost was $35.94 for the gallon.) I'll include data sheets or you can download them at www.sherwin.com. I have two quarts available as Dennis McGill wants one. For Information Purposes:(Gallon Formula) Base Used: B54 Y 37 "Safety Yellow" Tints Added: B1=1/32, R2=13/32+1/64, N1=1/32, R1=26/32 I had it matched to a seat bracket from my B207 (made in Lexington, SC). The matching surface was never exposed to sunlite. Paul
