shift stem weldable?

Can the shift stem be welded? (Part no.154261or21727795m)

A picture of the broken part would be helpful in determining what repair might be possible....Dave

Dave, it's the ball that moves the sliding gears. Looks like a tiny trailer hitch ball.

It could probably be welded, not sure if it would be hardened steel or not.

Let me look in my parts box, might have a used one you can have....
