GrincheyOne Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Roy, 'The transaxle is primarily attached to the frame by the side plates, also attached to the BGB. You do have to pull down all that good stuff like pulleys, idlers, linkage rods, all that to get to the hardware in the sideplates. there is likely a sequence given in the "Large Frame Repair Manual". I just "winged it". It is sorta like the "The foot bone is attached to...", in this case the side plates are attached to the tranny, the side plates are attached to the BGB, the BGB is attached to the frame. Etc. Check the IPL, it is relatively clear. Wayne

Once I got to the tranny, I asked someone here, and they sent me the large frame repair manual. The trickiest part I remember was figuring out how to support the tractor after the entire rear end was removed. Good luck.

Burntime Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 I am a decent sized guy, I always just benched it and set it on a 5 gallon bucket. A smart guy might use a ratchet strap to support it. Ahhh, good intentions vs gettin er done!
