7012 kohler 12

I just inherited a 7012 landlord w/a 12 kohler. It runs, no knocks, tings, but boy does it smoke. Should I rebuild completely? I want to get this thing up to snuff, Its quite a machine.

Absolutely! Spec it out and bore and cut only if needed. Have any machine work done by an experienced shop.
