simplicity regent 15 hp kohler repower

soooo todays craigslist score was a simplicity regent #1694321 without a engine. part of the package deal included a beat scotts/deere tractor,2 old snow blowers(1 ariens,1 craftsman tracked),2 lawn mowers,and a power washer. i only paid 125 for the whole package,so i,m pretty sure i can make a few bucks. i have a kohler 16 that has 220 hours on it from a broadmore,can i use this in the regent or should i just find a briggs???

Regent's used 16 HP Kohler's . So if your 16 HP has a 1" dia X 3-5/32" L long shaft if I remember correctly, you should be good to go engine mounting wise.

Was that gear model a 6 speed? It appears to have an internal limited slip differential?

thanks bob,this is a hydro which i dont think matters. one of these days i will figure out how i can post pictures without going thru ray...LOL. i guess if that checks out and the bolts line up then the next issue is the briggs wiring to kohler.
