Cylinder Dimensions

If anyone has any of the commonly used cylinders handy, I'm curious what the collapsed length and stoke measures are on them. Any cylinder we normally encounter is of interest to me, for an oddball project. I'm doing some research, away from home, and could use any info available. I appreciate the help.

-Early hydrolift cylinder

-RBT hydrolift cylinder

-Sunstar cylinder (same as Sovereign, correct?)

-Legacy cylinder

-Power Steering cylinder

I am specifically looking for a cylinder that is 9.5", compressed, and has a 4" or longer stroke. Double action.

Thanks guys!

At work?:D If you need one for power steering. The JD 925 will work with few mods.

id="quote">Dont you know it!Im all set on PS parts but am working on another project. Hoping to find a cylinder that will work asap, and thought maybe something we are all used to seeing would fit the bill. This short length seems impossible to find online at the hydro and surplus houses. Around 12" long is the closest I have found with a 4" stroke.

Hello , I have a cylinder that is unused but has an extended ram that could be shortened by cutting off eye and rewelding the eye. It has a 5 1\4 stroke .

Thanks for the offer Ken! That would be awful close to fitting the bill. If I fudge my mounting points a tiny bit, it may work as you describe.

I have some inquiries out that I'm waiting to hear back on, but yours would be the most cost effective approach, I'm thinking.

What DIA are the mounting points?

What about one from a 620, 720, 4040 type series for a front blade. I'm at work (can't measure) but they are very short and stubby.

Josh, have you looked at surpluscenter.com? They have a 4" stroke, 10" retracted, I didn't look any further.

Hello the cylinder mount is 3\4 the ram is 1 1\4 so if you cut that off any size could replace it. Know we need to hear about this project?

I could be way off base, but I think I know what you're working on. If so I may need one of these cylinders also.

Byran and a silent member here have my old B series Sweepsters, and my Legacy broom already angles. I had hoped for this project to wrap up before next weekends big show at Gilmore, but that may be unrealistic. Im not getting ANY projects completed right now =[

Josh,

Aren't your hands overflowing right now?

id="quote">Awwww...you already know. 8) I'm missing a cylinder on my next Fastenal shipment, and think I should be all set once it arrives. I'll let Chris know how it works, as I think he needs one too...heck, he probably saw my project in Lathrop yesterday ;)

Yep, it looks pretty good, I took a pic but I'll let you make the reveal.
