New owner 7016, front pto was not releasing completely, after looking at the linkage and realizing it had been rerouted under the starter . I rerouted over the starter after many hours of bending , I now have the correct movement but the lever doesn't want to stay in the disengaged position: any ideas? Also the drive side of pto has less than an 1/8 of material left, is that suffecient?

Stronger spring or a bungey cord?

Clutch material is roughly 3/32" to begin with.

Thx for the replies guys, so I guess my front pto drive pulley has sum years left to it, that's a relief. I got the control rod bent the correct way finally, also put a nylon washer on the pto lever outside tbe frame to take up sum lever slop, all is good now.
