B series Sickle bar owners...HELP!

Recommended Posts

Calling all sickle owners. I need help with a part that is missing on a cable lift sickle bar mower. I need to get dimensions of the part that connects to the sickle that gives the scissors motion to the blades. I will try to get a part number if I can find a diagram of the sickle mower. The part appears to be a flat piece of stock. I want to get a copy of this part made so any help...including letting me borrow the part in question so I can have a part made, would be super helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Mark

990210 is the earliest FDT sickle mower. The RBT one will be a 169xxxx.

The part I need to find is part # 25 on the page that Rokon had entered in the above post.

If anyone can help me with getting this part even if it's just for a short time so I can try to have a copy built, that would be awesome. I have no Idea on how I will ever get this part.? Anyone have any ideas??

Just so I'm clear, the rocker arm between the two pitman arms, right?

I can get you some detailed pictures and measurements, it doesn't appear to be too complex a piece.

Yes..you can see the part in the bottom pic. It is the part with the collar and holes on both end and a small hood with a nut on the other end.I would be willing to give some cash to anyone who would lend me the part...I pay shipping both ways. I would not need it for more then a week or two. ...or better yet....if some real kind harted sole would fabricate one for me if I get specs on this part...I would be will to pay a solid price for it? I really don't want to have to part this bar out.

Thanks guys!

Ok is anyone else here confused? Is this an FDT sickle for a "B" series tractor as stated in the topic title or is this for an RBT sickle (1971 and newer for cone clutch machines)as stated within the message body????? I have an RBT sickle here (same as the one Brian posted a picture of) and I don't think but one or two parts will swap between it and a B-Series (FDT) sickle bar.

:o Like I am the only one to have a typo or make a mistake? Do you have the parts I need or not?

Mark, I'm not trying to pick you apart. In fact it was two of the responders that mentioned RBT or listed the 1690030 mower which is entirely different but similar looking. I'm trying to prevent you from getting the wrong parts. If you have a B-Series mower I believe you need # 101095 (rocker arm). That part is the same on all Simplicity 46" sickle mowers except the 1690030. I believe the rocker arm length may be different on the 1690030 mower as the pittman arm was changed. You buy and sell equipment pretty often so I wasn't sure which model you were currently working on.

Sorry I snapped but trying to get this piece is giving me fits! Not too many people out there with sickle bar parts lying around and I am a little frustrated C.

Thanks for help.

  • 2 weeks later...

Sorry for the delay, I was pulled away with a little unplanned health detour. The rocker is 7" center to center with the middle hole smack in the middle.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
