mruta Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Hi everyone, When my tractor (B-112) first starts moving (in forward or reverse), I get a pretty loud and nasty sounding gear noise. It gets better/goes away once the tractor is underway for a second or so. I assume this is coming from the BGB. Does anyone have any idea what the cause would be? Is there any way to check it out without pulling it apart? I don't (yet) have a manual for the tractor. Thanks in advance!
Oz Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Mine did that, and replaced the idler pulley, and it took care of the noise. It sure sounded like gears tho, but was a bad bearing on the pulley.
mruta Posted July 2, 2014 Author Posted July 2, 2014 Oz- thank you for your reply. The last time I really looked this tractor over, I remember finding a lot of play in the idler pulley bearings. I guess I never thought this could be the source of the noise. Anyone have a good source for the pulley? Would Sandy Lake have it? Thanks!!!
