2003 Legacy Diesel.....Erratic steering

Recommended Posts

Finally bought a "real" house with a 2-acre yard. Now that I have more to mow than a postage stamp yard, I've been searching for a "real" lawn tractor.

Found a 2003 Legacy diesel with 250 hours on it for $1500.....looks absolutely new.....wow.....what a machine vs the craftsman mowers I have used previously.

Came with 3-pt hitch, pto, blade, snow blower, 60-inch deck, aux hydraulics....loaded.

The only problem is loose steering.....hard to keep a straight line mowing. Steering wheel is tight with minimal play, but, the tractor wanders all over on the grass. Saw an older thread: http://www.simpletractors.com/Club2/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=54634

....talking about a service bulletin for erratic steering on 1693112 models......does anyone have this bulletin they could send me? GregC was the user that had the bulletin.

Thanks! sm01

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
