Alice Chalmers B 10

My grandson is restoring a B10 and we have a few questions. If I recall right, the yellow paint color is Old Catapiller Yellow. Is this right?

The serial number of the tractor is 043287. The engine code is 87041514. Is this the original engine and what year was it made?

Could someone please send a manual for the tractor to edstoller@earthlink.net. We have the engine covered. Thank you.

I think old cat yellow is as close as you can get "off the shelf" without a custom mix.

That engine code says the engine is a 1987 so it is not original.

That looks like the code # off a Briggs. The model # is 6 digits on a Briggs. I believe that code number means it was made on April 15th 1987

Tax day Engine? The B 10 series was from 1959 to 1970 so if that is the date code the engine isn't original. Hopefully it's running.

Leroy; early series B10's were made in 1964 and maybe a few in late 1963. Late series B10 was made in 1966 and very early 1967. Allis Chalmers B series tractors as a whole series went from 1961 to 1970. The B10 was not produced in all those years...Dave

Thank you all, The engine was locked up until we removed the mouse nest and re-set the mag. It looks like new inside.

Todays questions are:

1. What color should the wheels be? It has rust, black and white now.

2. Given that it has been re-engeined, does the tractor serial number, 043431 give any clues as to what year it was?

3. It has red and white striped reflector tape on the sides. Is this original; it don't look like it to me.

Bob, they are all "round hood". The flat hood started with the B 110.Wheel color is a cream or off white. This should help on the motor. Reflector tape isn`t original. Rims are off white originally.
