arbor question

Recommended Posts

deck rebuild time. I have 2 decks that use the 3 bolt arbors and one that uses the 6 bolt arbor. the 6 bolt has the worst shell but the blades spin freely. should I drill more holes in another shell to use the 6 bolt or put new bearings in the 3 bolts? when did Simplicity add the extra bolts? and why? the 6 bolt is a #1690252, the other decks no longer have tags but one is the original deck for my B-1

You don't need six bolts to hold in the arbors, three will do just fine. All my arbors have six holes in them, but there's only three holes in my decks.

Truth is, the more holes you have in the deck, the higher are the chances of the deck cracking near the extra holes.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
