adding a small stack

Can anyone for see any problems with adding a small stack and tapper to a tractor equipped with an 8hp engine?, I was worried that the backpressure of an elbow on the engine would cause problems, I was thinking of putting a small IH stack from TSC on my little tractor to give it more of a tractor look, thanks for the help

As long as your pipe is the same size or larger than original back pressure will not be a problem.

Make sure you support the stack in some way so that all the weight is not hanging from the engine.

I used an oem muffler on my 5hp engine.I've also seen some that would cram an oem muffler into the cub muffler to control noise.Support is needed, and locknuts the proper size from the electrical aisle are recommended at each threaded joint.

Here is what I did with a 6 hp on a 616 yeoman:

I made a support that bolted to the engine with two of the head bolts to keep the muffler from stressing the block and cracking it.Steve
