6216 variable speed drive slow uphil

Recommended Posts

Guys, my 6216 slows down when I go uphill, The clutch brake pedal actually moves forward and only if I pull the clutch/brake pedal back towards does the tractor resume normal speed. Any suggestions?

Thanks The Moleman

The spring that pulls back on the clutch pedal underneath the tractor can be adjusted tighter, this may be the problem. Also, if belts are worn this can happen. Finally, make sure the vari-drive is lubed properly and working freely- the manual explains how to do this. I have also heard that as the spring gets old, it loses some of it's strength and might need to be replaced.

Hope this helps!

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
