Axle Tube Needle Bearing

Recommended Posts

PhanDad

I'm thinking of replacing the broken axle tube in my original T-12 Vickers tranny. Never was inside a tranny before or pulled an axle so it'll be all new to me.

First order of business was to check parts availability. No luck for the axle tube needle bearing, Simplicity part #157519. Does anyone have a bearing manufacturer's number?

I know it depends on exactly what I find inside the tranny, but would it be OK to use a new (or used) tube with the old bearings? I do plan on replacing the seals.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Thanks for replies; spyder400k also responded by PM with the same Torrington # for the "narrow" bearing.

spyder400k also mentioned in his post that he does not use Simplicity (Briggs) seals since they are plastic vs metal. In his opinion, the metal ones fit the case better. Anyone know the manufacturer's part number for them? (Simplicity #154269-->2154269)

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
