BillC 0 Posted January 12, 2002 The Simplicity Sovereign battery size is 9-3/8" long X 5-1/16" wide X 8-13/16" high. The battery "must" also have: 1) mounting feet on the bottom of the case and 2) proper terminal type (top post) and orientation. The last time I purchased a battery it was a group 51R with 390 CCA. Al 6 Posted January 12, 2002 HI, The industry standard # is 22nf which is different from the 22F. Good luck, Al Eden
Kent 436 Posted January 12, 2002 Unless I'm mistaken, the difference between the 22F and the 22NF is that the battery terminals are reversed. Im my experience, 22NF batteries are not commonly stocked in auto parts stores, Walmart, etc. You may have to go farm type store, since they were fairly common in tractors... my local Agway wanted $62.95 for one. You can likely get a larger CCA battery for the money by using a Group 51 on some other alternative that'll fit... I think I paid around $40 for a Group 51.... JohnN 0 Posted January 12, 2002 I need a battery for my 7117H. The "garden tractor" battery just isn't cutting it. I looked through the battery book at severial stores and the books state that the correct battery is a 22F. I've also been looking through the posts and it appears as though the correct battery is a 22NF. I'm more inclined to belive what's in the posts. but I've bought and returned 2 batteries so far a 26R and a 22F. Could some one give me the proper size battery for the 7117. Thanks in advance, John
JohnN 0 Posted January 13, 2002 Well I bought the 51R. With the old battery the engine turned over like Zippy the Wonder Slug and now it works like a charm! Thanks alot, John
