Re-Sticking loose flywheel magnets

Is using epoxy or JB Weld to stick charging system magnets back on a 16hp cast iron Briggs flywheel going to work well ?

That's what I did this morning..

..hoping for the best

which of many engines I did it on now, must be holding....

Not impressed w JB Weld, prefer PC7 for same purposes....

Figures... as JB is what I used.

The only consolation is that the magnets were only loose. They still fit snug in the original epoxied "sockets", so hopefuly this will just help keep them in place.

This stuff is absolutely amazing (E6000 glue). My mother used it to glue a concrete bird bath back together. The top probably weighs 50 pounds and it is holding up. Not sure if it will hold the magnets in place. But it has an amazing holding strength.

Sam,

As long as you prep'd/cleaned/de-greased the surface of the flywheel & magnets, the JB weld should be a perfect epoxy for the job, I have always used a steel epoxy like that fixing this problem. I believe most manufacturers use a type of epoxy attaching them at the factory.
