AC 48" Deck ?

Recommended Posts

bowhunt4life

So I was lucky enough to get a nice 48" deck from my friends up north. This AC 48" deck for a HB212 has a single belt driven pulley on it.

Well I also found a nice one owner HB212 in Edgerton, WI that had a deck on it. After further review I noticed it had the dual notched pulley and double bet set up.

Why two different drive options?

I would guess that the Simplicity engineers decided that a more capable power transfer from the mid-PTO was needed with the larger deck and probably too many complaints with belt failures with the older single 1/2" profile belts? They carried through with the double V-belt deck drive belt at least through the 3300/3400 series. Probably someone like RayS or BLT knows more timeline info on this.
