Did you accidentally set the freewheel buttons on the hydro when you were installing the tiller?

It is plate that pushes down on a pair of check valves on the top of the hydrostatic drive.

clutch brake is rarely used on a hydro. Check to see if the clutch pulley is fully returning so the belt is tight.

Also, as above the buttons sometimes stick down even if the plate is pulled back up.

Yep those darn buttons were depressed because the plate slipped down. If not for you guys I may have replaced a good transmission. Didn't know about those valves and could not see them because of the plate. Works great now. Thanks for the info.

That ol broke tractor is determined to give you a crash course in tractor repair!

Seems like everything you have touched on that tractor has turned out good.

Time to start looking for some stable mates for it, you can't just have one!

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
