Towing a Husquvarna Hydro GTH2548XP

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I have a chance to aquire a HQ hydro drive GT with sweaper brush.

Machine was allegedly driven into the spot where it now sits about 3 years ago.

Can this be towed with hydro drive in neutral position, or should I put a strap between the rear wheels to hold them from rotating and just drag it onto the trailer ?

Total travel distance wil be less than 20 feet.

Thanks in advance for any insight on this box store beater.

The hydro has a "freewheel" control, which disengages the hydro so the tractor can be rolled around and/or towed. On the Husqvarna it should be in the rear of the tractor. Look at the plate that's mounted to the rear of the frame, just above the hitch plate where you'd attach a lawn cart. There will be a little lever there that you pull on, and lift up on to lock it.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
