Turbo belt size?

Recommended Posts

Simplicity turbo bagging system on 05 Broadmoor, got the belt driven turbo hangin off a 44" deck. Belt is all stretched out and torn. Anyone got the size of belt?

According to Jack's parts data base, the #1705142 turbo belt for a 44" deck is a 3L (3/8 I think) and 37.9" long (edit - transposed digits in original post).

The #1707956 turbo belt for a 50" deck is a 3L and 38.7" long.

The part numbers are from BLT's referenced manual.

FYI, the belt and blade reference in tech tips

Page 166 and 167 convert part numbers to actual size

page 170 shows dimensions for belt cross sections. (3L is 3/8")

1705142 SM .... 37.2 ..................... 3L

1707956SM .... 38.68 ................... 3L

Don't know which is wrong, belt and blade or Jacks, but one is.

Hope you didn't go out and buy a too long belt. I transposed the last two digits of the belt length in my original post.

But there is still a difference from Dan's info. The Jack's database length is for a superseded part number, so the original #1705142 is probably NLA.

So the learning:

Use the old belt table if you want to know the original spec'd info.

And another factoid is the alternate "True Blue" belt at Jack's is 37". So if your belt is too loose, a 37" might be a better choice if you can get in on initially.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
